We render our own tallow using suet that is 100% grass fed and grass finished from pasture raised cows from the Ottawa & Gatineau valleys. We render the suet once, using the dry render method and by using the lowest heat possible to render into tallow. This labor-intensive and time-consuming process creates a profound nutrient dense product that can be applied onto the skin.

Tallow contains high concentrations of vitamins and antioxidants such as vitamins A, D, E and K. Its fatty acid composition closely mimics the natural oils of human skin, providing deep, nourishing moisture without clogging pores.

My first purchase and I love the pure products I got

I would recommend Boreal Folk to anyone who loves natural products free of chemicals and artificial scents. Someone who wants to buy locally in Canada. Someone who understands and value a small business and what impact it can make on our communities and health in general since skin is our largest organ and absorbs everything we put on it.
With my purchase, I received face oil that I like and use for face and neck massages. It is just perfect so far and not greasy.
The serum is great for dry hands and feet but for body it is a bit challenging to spread. I also like the lip butter: it spreads so well and leaves your lips so soft.
Overall, love my products so far.

LOVE this for winter

This lip butter is amazing, it’s been so nice to use this winter. I use during the day and at night. It absorbs quickly and goes on soft and smooth but not greasy.

Soft healthy lips

So many lip products have a lot of unecessarily ingredients, fragrances, and additives. This lip balm goes on smooth without being too greasy, has a neutral taste (though I almost detect a bit of vanilla) and scent, and keeps my lip soft even in the really harsh Midwest winters.
